TOKYO – Day 12 of the Tokyo Olympics started off strong as Harvard’s Gabrielle Thomas secured her spot in the 200m finals after running a 22.01 in the semifinals.


2016 Columbia men’s basketball graduate Maodo Lo continued his sensational run for Team Germany in Tokyo in their final match against Slovenia. In the fourth quarter of last night’s quarterfinal match, Slovenia pulled away from Germany resulting in a 70-94 loss. Lo led Germany in scoring (13.5 PPG on 40% shooting from 3-point range) and assists (5.0) in his showing at Tokyo.


Dartmouth hooper Isalys Quiñones started in Puerto Rico’s final match against Australia. She played a total of 34 minutes, scoring three points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out two assists. Puerto Rico held a 24-22 lead at the end of the first quarter, but was unable to keep the momentum flowing resulting in a loss, 96-69.
